Gather your team and join us for an exciting multi-month, scavenger hunt competition that will lead contestants on the ECO CHASE CHALLENGE in THE RACE AGAINST WASTE. Missions designed to encourage waste reduction, proper recycling, and conservation awareness, will lead participants to discover the many resources and community partners that make Alachua County a great eco-friendly place to live.
The ECO CHASE CHALLENGE is a super engaging, task-oriented competition. Using Goosechase, an app-based platform, 50 teams (with up to 5 linked smart phones per team) will compete to earn points by submitting photos and videos of themselves at various checkpoints, answering trivia questions, and completing challenges to stay a step ahead of their competition. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be awarded during this exciting event! We are scheduled to start the competition on February 21st and Missions will continue to be revealed through April 22nd (Earth Day 2023). Team registration will close when we reach 50 teams SO DON’T WAIT!
Proceeds from this event benefits Tools for Schools, a partnership of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners and the School Board of Alachua County. Tools for Schools is the only completely FREE resource center exclusively dedicated to serving our Alachua County Public School teachers. Diverting thousands of pounds of useable resources from the landfill and providing new and gently used, school, office, and art supplies 100% free of charge to public school teachers throughout the year.
